Utah Transit Authority to honor youth art competition winners

WHAT: The Utah Transit Authority will announce the winners of its youth art competition at an awards ceremony on Friday, May 16. Every two years, UTA honors the artistic contributions of K-12 students in Utah through its youth art competition. A first, second, and third place winner, plus an honorable mention, will be chosen from kindergarten-2nd grade, 3rd-6th grade, 7th-9th grade and 10th-12th grade. The artwork will be displayed on UTA bus shelters throughout the UTA service area beginning May 2025.

The biennial youth art competition is a key part of UTA’s commitment to incorporating art in transit and engaging young people with public transportation. The theme for 2025 is “We Move CommYOUnity — Exploring the World Around You” where artists highlight how UTA impacts and connects their neighborhoods. UTA's mission is We Move You along with our vision of Leading Utah's mobility solutions and improving quality of life. The 2025 theme of “We Move CommYOUnity” highlights how UTA impacts and connects the larger community all throughout the Wasatch Front.

The 2025 selected artists represent 11 cities and three counties. For complete details on the program, visit rideuta.com/art.
